At Embitel, we follow ISO and CMMI complaint quality processes for software development. All project management activities are designed to follow PMI standards. Embitel provides three classes of services to clients:

Our end-to-end project planning and execution process broadly includes the following phase
- Development of a comprehensive SOW and project scope management document based on customer interaction and specifications
- Selection of a suitable software life cycle such as Waterfall, V-Life Cycle,SCRUM or milestone driven
- Preparation of project management plans and templates
- Software development plan and configuration management plans
- Reviews, walkthrough, inspection, and audit plans
- Quality assurance plan
- Setting up required physical infrastructure such as software development tools and testing tools
- Preparation and reviews of high level and low level design documents
- Coding as per the agreed coding standards and joint code reviews, if required
- All levels of testing to ensure quality of deliverables
- Maintenance and support for the deliverables

This helps to detect and correct errors early in the development process and consequently helps reduce, to some extent, the risks associated with project execution.

Product Maintenance and Support
Once perceived as essential cost-centers to an organization, software maintenance and support functions have, over time, evolved into strategic services centers across the industry. At Embitel, we further envision an evolution of these service centers into profit centers. Our well-defined processes address every aspect of maintenance and support to achieve this vision.
We follow a four-step process to take over project maintenance and support activities from the client R&D teams.

Phase I – Resource Planning and Knowledge Transfer:
- Selection of a team of professionals based on dynamic criteria such as execution platforms, OSs, software environment and domains
- Planning for required knowledge transfers, transitions and mentoring by clients to integrate with the client goals. Clients share product feature details, requirements and source codes at this stage.
- Selection of a maintenance framework with client consensus
Phase II - Infrastructure Planning and Change Control Process:
- Setting up physical infrastructure such as servers, tools, laboratories and simulators
- Establishing a change control board and setting up rules and guidelines for managing change and enhancement requests
- Collaboration between functional experts on-site and offshore maintenance teams
Phase III – Operational Proficiency:
- Familiarization with the product execution environment and skill development plans
- Prioritization and fixing of defects as per the agreed time frames
Phase IV – Desk Support:
- Complete support in accordance with a framework agreed upon with the client
- Obtaining client approval for corrective and preventive patches prior to implementation
- Help desk support and resolution of issues within agreed time frames
Trusted Third Party Program
Embitel is a specialist supplier of offshore software engineering services.
We understand that Clients does not sell direct but prefers to work with a number of OEM’s. In such cases we have found that there is always a risk of conflict concerning intellectual property owned by yourselves or your Clients. We can resolve this with our Trusted Third Party Program.
Under such an arrangement, having signed a Non Disclosure Agreement with your Client, we undertake customisation of your Client’s application software to match your hardware, under your instruction but without you having to have access to their source code, custom hardware or any other of their intellectual property.
Having effectively your own team of engineers, working under your direction, to your priorities, but without the risk of future intellectual property litigation. Embitel is operationally ready and would be glad to dedicate a core team of skilled resources for such engagements where the association is matured and long term. This will in turn create a greater flexibility and mind share to the Customer.
